The Laparascopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, the surgeon reduces the total capacity of the stomach by approximately 85% which results in a much smaller capacity for food and thus resulting in weight loss. The Sleeve Gastrectomy patient also experiences a lack of hunger due to the resection of this portion of the stomach. This is due to the fact that this portion of the stomach produces a hormone that increases hunger.
