Dr. Terracina graduated from The University of Mississippi Medical Center and obtained his training at the nationally renowned Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX.  He and his family moved from Panama City Florida where he developed and served as the director of the bariatric program at Gulf Coast Medical Center and Bay Medical Center. He moved to our area in 2004 to bring the laparascopic approach to our program and is a leader in our area in bringing new approaches to the field of minimally invasive weight loss surgery.

Dr. Terracina is the one of the most experienced minimally invasive surgeon in the state of Virginia. He has performed over 2200 laparascopic weight loss procedures  and is the most experienced LAP-BAND surgeon in our area with over 850 procedures to date. Dr Terracina enjoys providing patients with cutting edge approaches to weight loss surgery and he was the first surgeon in our area to perform the newest weight loss surgical procedure, the Sleeve Gastrectomy.

Dr. Terracina is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and the American Medical Association.  Dr Terracina is also a certified proctor and instructor for Ethicon Endosurgery, teaching other surgeons the technique of minimally invasive surgery.  With Dr. Terracina's complete commitment to only weight loss surgery he feels he not only has  the expertise in his chosen field of medicine but also the commitment to the needs of the weight loss surgery patient.
